About the author:
Al Striplen is of Amah Mutsun Ohlone and Aztec heritage. He holds a B.A. from Humboldt State University and an M.A. in counseling from California State University, Sacramento. He has been teaching and guiding young people through life experience for more than 42 years. As a profesor of Native American Studies and counselor, Al was devoted to advocacy for diverse communities, including ethnic students, women's groups & pride centers, and Native American students and their families. He is an artist whose works span a variety of methods and mediums, and has provided illustrations for a wide range of publications.
